Watch out LinkedIn... Facebook is coming for you!

Facebook is constantly developing new ways to grow its products and better its experience for users and businesses. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. As we know, some new features have been successful and some have been a failure, just like the world's worst sequel Speed 2 - Cruise Control.

A recent update allows businesses to offer job roles directly within Facebook. You heard that correctly, as a business you will now be able find great talent, accept applications and even hire people directly within the Facebook applications function.

To see available job roles head over to www.facebook.com/jobs. Facebook stated* “it will help businesses find qualified people where they’re already spending their time—on Facebook and on mobile.”

Check out how you can use this new feature for your business:

LinkedIn is by far the most dominant social site when it comes to looking for jobs and recruiting for roles. The way a LinkedIn profile is laid out is perfect for applying for jobs and showing your professional skills, talents and previous job roles. So why would Facebook introduce this feature? Personally, I see LinkedIn as a great source of business news and potential job offerings which are mainly for skilled job roles. I think Facebook could be a great match for roles for smaller businesses which wouldn’t think or want to advertise on LinkedIn.

It will be interesting to see how Facebook adapts and changes this feature over the coming months as it’s a very interesting one to keep an eye on. But one thing’s for sure, I know most of you should definitely remove some photos and status’s before applying for a job through Facebook. You really don’t want your potential employer seeing you dancing on a bar with a bucket as a hat, chugging a beer bong while dressed as an Oompa Loompa at 4:27am!
